The Ultimate Guide to Packing for a Gran Canaria Vacation

Gran Canaria is a beautiful destination, specially during summer!. It’s a popular tourist destination, known for its beautiful beaches, stunning scenery, and mild climate. If you are planning a vacation to Gran Canaria, you will need to pack appropriately for the weather and activities you plan to do.

In this blog post, I will provide you with a comprehensive guide to packing for a Gran Canaria vacation. We will discuss the clothing essentials you will need, as well as tips on how to mix and match different outfits. I will also provide advice on what to wear for specific activities or events, and how to stay stylish while traveling.

Clothing Essentials

The weather in Gran Canaria is warm and sunny year-round. The average temperature in the winter is 20 degrees Celsius (68 degrees Fahrenheit), and the average temperature in the summer is 27 degrees Celsius (81 degrees Fahrenheit). However, the weather can vary depending on the time of year and the location on the island. For example, the northern part of the island is cooler than the southern part.

When packing for your trip, you will need to pack light, comfortable clothing that is appropriate for the weather. Here are some of the clothing essentials you will need:

  • Shorts
  • T-shirts
  • Sundresses
  • Swimwear
  • Sandals
  • Flip-flops
  • A hat
  • Sunglasses
  • Sunscreen
  • A light jacket or sweater (for the evenings)

If you notice the above, you can pretty much buy everything at Aloha Canary or any other store. We sell the essentials so you can worry about bringing what you love to wear from home!

However, if you have space, you may also want to pack some more formal clothing if you plan on attending any nice restaurants or events. Gran Canaria is an island, and we do not expect formal dining everywhere, however in Europe, locals tend to always dress smart casual.

Mix and Match

One of the best ways to pack light is to mix and match different pieces of clothing. This way, you can create multiple outfits from a small number of items. For example, you can pair a pair of shorts with a few different t-shirts, or a sundress with a cardigan or sweater. I would suggest darker lower parts, and lighter coloured tops. The dark works for evenings and the light coloured top ensures you stay cool at all times. You can also pack a few accessories, such as scarves, necklaces, and bracelets, to help you change up your look.

Activities and Events

The activities you plan to do on your vacation will also affect what you pack. If you plan on spending most of your time at the beach, you will need to pack more beachwear. I would suggest packing your basic swimwear and definitely visit us to get your hands on what is on season!, it will be a great addition to your wardrobe and you can show it off back home!.

If you plan on doing some hiking or exploring, you will need to pack more comfortable shoes and clothes. Similarly, attending any special events such as a wedding or a formal dinner, will require you to pack something more formal.

Staying Stylish

Even though you are traveling, you still want to look your best. Here are a few tips on how to stay stylish while packing light:

  • Choose versatile pieces of clothing that can be dressed up or down.
  • Pack a few accessories to help you change up your look.
  • Don’t forget to pack your favourite pair of shoes! I can not stress, while this is an island, your feet are not used to walking around in flip flops. The feeling is great while at the beach or pool, however you will need some shoes for regular leisure and walking around on the rocky surfaces!

Conclusion

Packing for a vacation can be a daunting task, but it doesn’t have to be. By following the tips in this blog post, you can pack light and stylish for your trip to Gran Canaria.
